Hear me share about my work as a Spiritual Director
I feel deeply honored to do the work of spiritual direction—it’s a true privilege to walk alongside others on their spiritual journeys.
I was also incredibly grateful for the opportunity to share about this meaningful work (and my love of fly fishing!) on Eric Hoke’s excellent Your Best Work podcast.

What Others Are Saying
"Tim Pynes is one of the most transformative men I've ever had the privilege to work with. Whether investing in people one-on-one, or teaching before large groups, Tim brings a presence and voice that evokes transformation from a grounded place of grace and peace. He is a true sage." — Michael D. Warden, Transformational Coach & Author of Leading Wide Awake, The Transformed Heart, and other works (www.michaelwarden.com).
"I went through major life transitions—leaving pastoral ministry, relocating, and facing midlife challenges—that left me feeling disoriented. Tim’s wise, compassionate guidance gave me clarity, confidence, and a sense of peace as I embraced this new season with greater ease and purpose. I highly recommend his services to anyone facing life transitions who would benefit from a seasoned guide's wise, compassionate support." — Eric Hoke, Host of Your Best Work podcast and Author of Market Street Pastor (www.ihelppastorsgetjobs.com).
"Tim Pynes has had a profound and lasting impact on my life. His rare ability to bring clarity to both thought and emotion is truly remarkable, and the wisdom he offers is not only deeply insightful but always arrives at just the right moment. It’s hard to fully express the depth of my gratitude for his guidance during one of the most challenging seasons of my life. Every conversation with Tim has felt like a meaningful investment—one that continues to offer strength, clarity, and renewal." — Robb Overholt, Author of Grief: Meditations on the Struggle to Embrace Life's Troubles

I’m passionate about walking alongside you through the transitional seasons of life—whether you're navigating grief, experiencing a profound change, or seeking to deepen and re-enchant your faith. Along the way, I strive to create a supportive environment where personal growth and healing can naturally unfold.
With two decades of experience as a healthcare chaplain, spiritual director, and bereavement coordinator, I’ve learned that true healing comes from creating a space where people can reflect, process, and grow.
My approach is grounded in deep listening—tuning in not just to the words themselves, but to the deeper truths beneath the surface. I believe that the focused, non-judgmental presence of another person can be profoundly powerful—often more transformational than any advice or solution. I support individuals through conversation and reflection, helping them find clarity and insight in their own time.
I’m committed to honoring each person’s unique path and meeting them where they are, without judgment. Whether you're seeking spiritual renewal, healing, or a deeper connection with God, I am here as an Anam Cara (soul friend), offering wisdom and companionship on your journey toward becoming more of who you truly are.
Through it all, my goal is to help you thrive, deepen your faith, and navigate life’s transitions with compassion and understanding.
There are seasons in life when we all need a Soul Friend
“In everyone’s life, there is a great need for an Anam Cara, a soul friend.
In this love, you are understood as you are without mask or pretension." - John O'Donohue
As a spiritual director, healthcare chaplain, and bereavement coordinator with 20 years of experience, I’ve had the sacred privilege of being present in some of life’s most profound and tender moments—offering support in trauma bays, sitting by the bedsides of the dying, and walking with individuals and families through unimaginable loss and change.
These experiences, along with my training as a spiritual director through a year-long seminary program, have profoundly shaped my understanding of spiritual care. I hold a Master of Divinity degree and have completed four units of Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE), which have strengthened my ability to provide a grounded and compassionate presence in both clinical and contemplative settings.
At the heart of my work is the belief that healing and growth occur in the presence of deep listening, reflection, and unconditional acceptance. My approach is rooted in what I call Wholenessing—the lifelong journey of becoming more fully who you are, in connection with yourself, God, and others.
In a culture that often lacks meaningful rites of passage for life’s major transitions, I strive to fill that gap. Whether you’re navigating grief, spiritual longing, or a shift in life’s direction, I offer a calm and nonjudgmental space to explore what is emerging within you. I am here to walk alongside you as an Anam Cara—a soul friend—offering wisdom, quiet support, and presence.
If you’re seeking a deeper connection with the Divine, or simply someone to accompany you through a season of change, it would be an honor to walk with you.
